Well, we’ve had some success with our grab thus far in the Arena league. We grabbed Rashied Davis awhile back. Now yes Rashied Davis is a third down receiver, but you can’t argue that he hasn’t helped to take the Bears to a new level.
If you aren’t sure if you’ve seen Rashied Davis, then just watch just about any Bears clip. He’s the guy who jumps up in the air, throws his hands down and sort of does a chest bump. It’s a pretty decent celebration.
Anyway, the Chicago Bears think they can pull from the well once again. They signed Timon Marshell away from the Grand Rapis Rampage on Tuesday with a three year contract.
Marshall was seventh in th AFL with 35 touchdowns, 102 receptions with 1,134 yards.
Now it appears that the Bears are counting on his ability to play on both sides of the ball. Is it me, or are the Bears shopping more for players who are able to move around the ball? Marshall did play cornerback as well in the AFL. Rumor has it he will be used for offense. Depending on our defensive needs, playing him at corner still remains an option.
I do like the direction we are heading. Jerry Angelo seems to be using all means to get talent. It’s no secret that Jerry has had a great eye for talent. Now whether it truely is Jerry picking the mid-round draft picks, he’s surely to get all the credit.
So the Bears really seem to be showing they are commited to having a great team. We are applying grease to the sqeaky wheel. We needed a better offense to beat Indy at the Super Bowl. Well, traditionally, we have signed defensive players even though we had offensive needs.
This year proves to be different, with the selection of Benson, Olsen, and all the mid-range talent.
This season is shaping up to be excited!
More to come tomorrow!
